Improving access to healthcare services for student-athletes who may be underinsured or in underserved areas of San Diego County and providing educational opportunities in the field of athletic training and sports medicine at all levels from high school through medical school.

The foundation provides student-athletes with access to sports injury prevention, injury treatment, injury rehabilitation resources and sports specific skills training, as well as providing educational opportunities and practical experience for healthcare professionals through our various programs.

Student Athletes

SWSWF funds and supports programs for student-athletes to have access to:

Pre-Participation Sports Exams & Cardiac Screenings

For nearly 60 years, SWSWF and its founder have been providing sports medicine care for athletes in San Diego County. In 2018 the foundation opened a comprehensive Sports Medicine Injury Clinic & Wellness Center in the SUHSD with more than 800 sq ft of space to screen, assess, and, evaluate student-athletes at no cost.
